Micro 17 is an acoustic overlay flooring system suitable for use on new  and existing timber and concrete floors. The substrate layers of moisture-resistant fibreboard and MDF board are separated by visco-elastic sound damping strips. The underside incorporates a resilient layer of acoustic felt, which provides mechanical isolation from the existing floor structure. Micro 17 is 17mm thick and is designed to damp vibration and attenuate both airborne sound and impact noise passing through floors with minimal loss in room height.

When installed over an existing timber floor with SoundSlab between the joists, it complies with conversion requirements of the Building Regulations. It can exceed new build and conversion standards when used in conjunction with Isolation Bars to  de-couple the ceiling below.
