Trim Acoustic can now offer a comprehensive sound testing service to the building industry to comply with building regulation Document E.
Trim Acoustics are a nationwide company who have been at the forefront of the commercial and domestic sound reduction industry for over 20 years. Due to our extensive knowledge and experience of acoustic issues we routinely provide technical and Building Regulations advice, assistance with specification and on-site guidance to contractors, developers and architects.
We are also a supplier and installer of sound insulation products and, since our inception, we have provided technical and product guidance, written specifications and carried out installation work for properties owned by every local authority, as well as most of the major Housing Associations, in London.
Our sound tests are carried out by operatives trained in both practice and theory, using appropriate site safety-wear and cautionary signs. The test itself is conducted using the Norsonic wireless Building Acoustic System. This system allows remote operation, ensuring that measurement results are not compromised by the presence of personnel within the test rooms. Additionally, the use of separate microphones in both the source and receiving rooms enables measurement data to be obtained from both rooms simultaneously. This system is designed to optimise the accuracy of the test result.
The test procedures are carried out in accordance with the requirements of BS EN ISO 140-4:1998 and BS EN ISO140-7:1998. Airborne and Impact Sound Insulation are rated in accordance with BS EN ISO 717-1:1997 and BS EN ISO 717-2:1997 respectively.
